Malaysia

We entered Malaysia in 1999 and hold majority interests in eight separate production sharing contracts (PSCs): Block K, Block H, Block P, SK 309, SK 311, SK 314A, SK 2C and PM 311.  In 2016 production was 58,000 boepd representing approximately 35% of total net production.  Total proved reserves at year end 2016 were 66 MMBO and 540 BCF.

Kikeh

KikehThe Kikeh field, the first deepwater development in Malaysia, has been in production since 2007.

Kakap

Sarawak Gas Project

Sarawak GasThe Sarawak Gas Project is multi-phase development for several natural gas discoveries in blocks SK309 and SK311, and started producing in 2009. Murphy provides gas to the Malaysia LNG complex via our gas sales contract with PETRONAS, the Malaysian state-owned oil company, for gross sales volumes up to 250 mmcfd.

Block H Gas Development Project

Since the Rotan discovery in 2007, we have several other natural gas discoveries nearby. The Block H Floating LNG project has been sanctioned by both Murphy and PETRONAS with first production targeted in 2018.
