Eric M. Hambly

Eric M. Hambly serves on the Board of Directors and as President and Chief Executive of Murphy Oil Corporation. Hambly joined Murphy in 2006, playing a vital role in the success of Murphy’s global exploration and production operations. Starting his career in the Corporate Reserves department, he earned roles with increasing responsibilities primarily focusing on offshore operations in the Gulf of America and Malaysia, as well as onshore operations in the US and Canada. He was promoted to Executive Vice President, Operations in 2020 and assumed the position of President and Chief Operating Officer in 2024. Hambly received bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Chemical Engineering from Brigham Young University and has completed the Advanced Management Program at Harvard Business School.
